The Twelve Teams of Life Bridge (Part 3)

In The Twelve Teams of Life Bridge (Part 2), I outlined the first four teams we will focus on building at Life Bridge in order to empower one million to walk together with God.  These four teams (Engage, Empower, Equip, Encourage) are purposefully designed to move someone from no faith until they are comfortable and consistent building faith into others.  In other words, those teams build a discipleship path that results in strong, Godly leaders.  Today, we will unpack the next four teams out of the twelve.  These may seem be a bit more familiar.

Encounter God - The Encounter God Team wil focus on creating events where it is easy for anyone to come and encounter God.  Their focus will not just be on worship, which is a response give by those who believe, but also on helping non-believers to encounter God in very real ways as well.  Most of their events in the beginning will take the form of weekend services, but other events can be added in over time.

Make it RealThe Make It Real Team will help people make their faith real through small group Bible studies, discussion groups, personal devotions, and more.  The team’s focus is to help people work through their doubts and work out their faith (Philippians 2:12).  As they work through and work out, they will grow in maturity.

Live it OutThe Live It Out Team will help people find their fit in ministry to participate in the Body of Christ.  They will help people learn their part of God’s Church, because we all have at least one part to live out.  This team will help people discover how they are designed and gifted as well as ensuring that there are minisry opportunities that match each person.  Positions aren’t just built by the leader.  Positions are built by God and discovered by the leaders and individuals themselves.

Take a StepThe Take A Step Team actually contains the four teams outlined last week.  This group, however, will back up and have more of a wide-angle lense.  Their focus will be on the individual person, regardless where that person is in their walk, and in helping that person take the next step.  This team will help make sure we don’t drop anyone as they transition from one team to the next as they walk down the path.

Each team will work together with the others, to built people up into Christ.

Then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of people in their deceitful scheming. Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head, that is, Christ. From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work. (Ephesians 4:14-16 NIV)
